NEWS: iNovem supports integration of Lovell Johns' PlanVu mapping software to meet PDG targets

19th September 2007
Lovell Johns have integrated their web-based mapping solution into iNovem eConsult to support interactive proposals maps as part of LDF consultations

As a measure of best practice, Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) are now expected to provide fully interactive online Proposals Maps linked to policy and proposals text when consulting on planning policy. In support of this, Lovell Johns, a leading supplier of map publishing solutions has successfully integrated their new web-based mapping application, PlanVu, into iNovem's e-consultation software. With relatively little effort, the two companies have been able to plug their software together to allow users to navigate seamlessly from planning policy documents to proposals maps and visa-versa.

Launching this new capability at AGI 2007 Conference, Symon Porteous, Lovell Johns Business Development Manager commented "PlanVu is a natural extension to the publishing solutions we already provide to many LPAs." Symon added, "As a leading supplier of e-consultation systems, iNovem has helped us to fine-tune our web-based mapping to ensure LPAs find it easy to meet the targets required to obtain Planning Delivery Grant (PDG) awards."

Supporting this collaborative effort, John Glover, iNovem's Sales & Marketing Director said "We are currently providing e-consultation systems to a growing number of LPAs who require us to provide bi-directional 'links' to their proprietary mapping databases. Given iNovem's support for open standards, this is normally quite easy. Lovell Johns have been very receptive to ideas and ways in which our two products could provide further levels of integration."

This collaborative effort is non-exclusive. Both companies have a common interest in being able to provide this capability to shared and new clients alike and ensuring any interface requirements are simple and easy to implement.
