NEWS: iNovem receives Planning Portal LDF accreditation

25th January 2007
iNovem eConsult meets the specified standard for electronic publication of Local Development Framework documents

The Planning Portal has today confirmed that iNovem's e-consultation software has successfully passed the compliance test for importing and exporting LDF planning documents via the government's approved XML standard. This means that iNovem is now recognised by the Portal as an accepted Foundation Level supplier.

This new test procedure, launched only last week, is designed to ensure consistency in the production and publication of LDF documents. The XML schema was developed during 2006 through consultation with key users and software suppliers and with the recent introduction of the accreditation scheme, Local Planning Authorities are now being strongly encouraged to use only accredited suppliers.

On passing the certification test process Peter Jackson, iNovem's CTO, remarked "We were more than happy to enhance our software to meet the specified standard. Our planning customers will now find it a lot easier to share information with the Planning Portal and also with other document management and publishing tools that support this XML schema."

iNovem will now work with its growing client base to submit LDF documents to the Planning Portal as part of the full accreditation process and intends to maintain compliance with the standard as it is enhanced in the future.
