iNovem was founded in 2001 by software industry practitioners, Peter Jackson and Jason Webb to develop Internet-architected enterprise Collaboration solutions. Peter and Jason are best known as the key architects and strategists of SmartGroups.com, Europe's premier community website. On completion of the successful £60M buy-out of SmartGroups to Freeserve, Peter and Jason dedicated their efforts to developing Collaboration software to integrate multi-geographical teams to streamline the delivery of mission-critical projects.
From its offices near Hungerford, Berkshire, the iNovem team has invested in an 18 month software development programme which culminated in the launch of iNovem Team Initiative™ in February 2003. Team Initiative™ is the flagship Collaboration product from the iNovem team
